The Board of Trustees is the policy making body of the library. They meet each third Tuesday of the month in the library. The trustees are appointed by the Town Board. They are the custodians of the Town of Chester Library Endowment. The Friends of the Library organizes fund raisers, operates the twice-annual book sale, hosts programs like the Winter Film Festival and provides volunteer staffing for daily operation of the library. The funds raised by the Friends augment the library's operating budget provided by the Town of Chester. They meet the second Saturday of each odd numbered month at 10am in the library. New members are always welcome.
