We are expanding our Board - Apply now!
If you live in the Town of Chester, Warren County, NY, you are eligible to become a member of the Board of Trustees of the Town of Chester Public Library. We appreciate your interest in becoming a trustee. By serving the Library you are serving the entire community.
This library has become a gem in the community, much loved and much used. After being forced to close because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are in the process of re-opening in phases, to ensure the safety of patrons and staff. We view this moment as one in which the board guides the Library into the future and adjusts and develops its services in order to more fully, and safely, meet the needs and interests of our community. This moment presents tremendous opportunity for innovation and imagination.
We are looking for special people to step forward and join us. It’s a perfect time to serve! Your unique combination of skills will make a difference. We plan to increase the membership on our Board of Trustees, and we will conduct interviews over the coming months. We look forward to hearing from you and welcoming you to this important work!
Here are some documents explaining the role of the trustees in governing the library. For more information, and to apply, please don’t hesitate to our board president.
